We found ourselves feeling all romantic in Birmingham on Tuesday, and along with one of our partner charities, LoveBrum, decided to spread a little love to the city.
LoveBrum is a charity that engages with local people and businesses to build an even better Birmingham. They shine a light on hidden projects and charities doing good in the city (find out more about LoveBrum here).
We made ourselves look beautiful and headed out to share LoveBrum branded roses with the citizens of our fine city, as locals strolled around on their lunch breaks. We hit two of the busiest and well-known spots, Grand Central and St. Phillips Cathedral, with our friends at Koala TV were nice enough to film the whole thing.
While we handed out red roses, Birmingham MD; Paul Bramwell showed MediaCom Chairwoman Karen Blackett OBE around the sites, stopping in at ITV to meet the weatherman and Global to meet one of its radio show presenters – handing them roses and asking them to tweet about the LoveBrum cause.
Joanna Seabright from LoveBrum was delighted with the activtiy:
“LoveBrum is all about working together to make Birmingham a better place, and we wanted to share the love and show Birmingham how much we love each and every person, by going out onto the streets and handing out Valentine’s roses to the public. As well as a lovely surprise for people out and about in the city, it was also great to see so many Birmingham businesses working together to make it happen, including MediaCom, Koala TV, and East Village. This event represents exactly what Birmingham is all about; loving our city, our people, and our businesses.”
The day was a huge success – each rose found a loving home with the accuracy of Cupid’s arrow. What’s more, the love-in continued across social networks, helping to raise awareness of the great work LoveBrum do.
